The concept for Escape to Pause was born from my personal commentary on how AAA gaming has become repetitive and uninspired as of late. Having played video games for years, the flash and gusto of mainstream titles have finally lost their grip on me. In all honesty, I really do blame ageing. As a 30 something gamer, I really don’t have much time as it is to balance work with hobbies, so when I do get a chance to play, I want something quick and worthwhile. That’s when I started searching for Indie games. There was an apprehension at first since all I’ve played my life were AAA console games, but now that I’ve dipped my toes in indie waters, I’m ready to take a deeper dive. This blog is my journey into this corner of the gaming industry and hopefully, I can share some hidden gems and convince you to also hit the escape button on life, pause, and pick up an indie game.
